How geometry of subduction zones correlates with earthquake dynamics

Published in ArXiv Preprint, 2026

Combines differential surface geometry and global seismic data to show that flatter subduction zones generate rarer, larger earthquakes while variable curvature zones produce frequent, smaller events.
